Current Beauty Favourites

Hello everyone! Long time no speak! It has been a very long time since I uploaded a blog post and this is due to me starting a new job. I am an Assistant Event Co-Ordinator at a Hotel, the job is very demanding and takes up a lot of time. I am however, back into the swing of things and have blog posts planned for future uploads!

So, lets get started on my Current Beauty Favourites!

Please bare in mind I have had this post written and waiting for me to upload!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Recently I became extremely lucky as I was given the opportunity to become an Assistant Event Co-ordinator at a hotel. A full time job means I work long hours throughout the day. Because of this I wanted to find long lasting make up, which covers my pores and imperfections without looking cakey.
Concealer
I found this concealer from Number 17 and I am absolutely in love. It’s the ‘Pwhooar’ heavy duty under-eye concealer. It is absolutely perfect for hiding those pesky bags beneath the eyes. One of the things I love about the concealer is that it does not set into the fine lines under my eyes, unlike like many of the other concealers I have tried. Although it says it is an ‘under-eye’ concealer I also like to use it over any imperfections as the colour match to my skin is unbelievable, normally I find it extremely difficult to match concealers and foundations to my skin as my skin is so light.
Another concealer, which is an all-time favourite of mine, is the Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer. This concealer has excellent coverage and covers all of my imperfections amazingly. I also like to use it under the eye to brighten and conceal.
A Much loved Concealer!
Miracle Complexion Sponge by Real Techniques
This sponge is amazing and so versatile. I like to use the pointed edge to blend in my concealer using pressing motions. It is the perfect design to press the concealer under the eye and around the nose area.
Another way I like to use this sponge is by wetting it and pressing my foundation into my face. It gives a flawless finish without making the make-up look cakey or using too much product.
NYC Eye-Shadow Primer
From the Individual eyes palette I am in love with the eyelid primer. It is an amazing product which makes any eyeshadow last all day. It’s a creamy consistency and easily glides onto the eye lid.
Benefit Eye Shadow from the She So Jetset Palette
These eyeshadows are extremely pigmented and last all day. They contain shimmer which makes the eyes to pop. Each colour blends together creating a perfect smoky eye look and the brown shades compliment any eye colour. I love these shadows for work as they can create a very natural eye look which can very easily be created into a night time look should you wish to do so.
Lipstick
I re-found this Revlon Lip Butter in Crème Brulee. It is one of my all-time favourite lipsticks as its creamy consistency prevents the lips from drying. It lasts all throughout the day and is the perfect nude colour. A little hint of brown in the pink nude creates dimension and does not make you look like you have no lips!
Two things which I have been unable to find a current love for are Mascara and foundation which, in my opinion, are the most important parts of my make-up routine. I have tried many different foundations, and although they may have worked well in the summer when I did not need as much coverage, I feel now that it is getting colder and my skin is getting drier that it is difficult to find a foundation which matches my skin.
If you have any Mascara and Foundations you love! Please let me know!
A Little Haul From Poole + Mini Reviews
A Little Haul From Poole
 I did not buy much from this trip to Poole as it was only a few days and we only went into the town for about an hour. I did however want to pick a few things up from Superdrug, as the Superdrug where I live does not stock the brand NYC.
The first thing that I picked up was the Loose Face Powder in the colour Translucent. I absolutely love this powder as it is by far my favourite out of the many I have tried. It makes my foundation last long throughout the day and also takes away all shine, making my foundation matte. It is also extremely good with any oily patches on my skin. I do not have oily skin but if I get hot throughout the day a little bit of this powder and it goes away making my makeup look flawless once again! It was also a bargain as NYC had an offer where all of their products were £2.50 and under and the powder was £2.49.
The next thing I picked up was an individual eyes palette, I had previously bought the Individual eyes for Blue eyes because I really liked the colours (read my review here http://shannonkims.blogspot.co.uk/2013/08/nyc-eyeshadow-palette-for-blue-eyes.html) and this time I bought the one for brown eyes as they were gorgeous pink colours and created an extremely beautiful look on the eyes which I feel matches my brown eyes very well. From the ‘for blue eyes palette’ I already knew that I liked the primer, but with this palette I was pleasantly surprised to see that all of the colours were very pigmented and went onto my eyelid well. The colours can create a really soft pink eye for an everyday look and can also create a dark smokey pink look, with the dark purple shade, for the evening for a night time look. This palette was also £2.49, and absolute bargain!
 NYC: Individual Eyes For Brown Eyes
The final NYC product I got was one of their ‘New’ lipsticks in the colour ‘Red Rapture’ it is an amazing ‘vamp’ red shade which I feel compliments my skin tone as I am quite pale. It has a smooth and creamy consistency which I much prefer to matte lipsticks! The lipstick glides on extremely well and is extremely pigmented. It lasts a very long time and I also feel that it does not dry out my lips when I wear it!
The final thing I bought was a matte Eyeshadow from MUA. The Colour is called ‘matte’ and is a dark brown, perfect for the crease! I really loved the matte brown colour in my MUA palette ‘Undress me too’ but because I loved it so much it has unfortunately gone and this is the perfect replacement at only £1.00. MUA is an extremely affordable brand if you cannot afford the more expensive brands. Their eye shadows in particular, I feel, are extremely good quality, very pigmented and an absolute bargain and £1.00 for single eyeshadow or £4.00 for a palette of 12 colours!
When I was paying for the products I saw that they had Lady Gaga’s The Fame perfume in a little sample pack so I picked one up for myself. These little samples are perfect for putting in your bag and having a quick spray throughout the day. My Nan also got me one as well, go Nan!
Day Two In Poole
Day Two In Poole
Day two in Poole was a very relaxing day! We had a nice lie in until around 10am whereby we had a light breakfast. We then went up to the members club and enjoyed a free cup of tea in the morning sunshine.
After the lovely tea we popped into town to have a little look around and I found myself in Superdrug! ;) I needed to get a few things and I thought I would have a little look around the make-up counters. The Superdrug in Poole stocks the brand NYC, something which I cannot get in the Superdrug where I live. I absolutely love their Loose Face Powder in the colour Translucent so I thought that I would stock up! I also got a few extra little items whilst I was there. (Check out my Little Haul from Poole.
After we went back to the caravan for lunch before heading up to the pool for a quick swim as the weather was, once again, extremely good for England!
Now a very British thing to do, whilst on holiday by the sea, is to have fish and chips for dinner! (Although, I have sausage and chips because I don’t like fish but that’s not the point!) An excellent place to have this is along the Quay watching the boats sail past as the sun sets. It’s a very picturesque scene! I opted for a loose fitting pink blouse from Primark along with a pair of Disco Pants also from Primark. On my eyes I used the 'NYC Individual Eye's Palette for Brown Eye's to make a pink smokey eye look!
We then left early in the morning where I wore a cosy jumper from Primark, leggings and a natural look as we were only going home!
Poole is defiantly an excellent place to relax and recuperate as well as enjoy an excellent time by the sea. It also has a beautiful manmade park where you can sit and have a bite to eat and a cup of tea. It’s a very beautiful town and also only a 10 minute drive to Bournemouth which is an excellent place for shopping and has many department stores to go browsing around the make-up counters!
