Suckered in to the Dandelion Blush!

A trip through Duty Free saw me pick up a few new products and promptly place them in my basket, with new products comes new reviews! I couldn’t resist popping to the benefit counter and getting some of their gorgeous pieces. I have previously talked about the Roller Lash mascara that I picked up, but today I wanted to delve into the world that is blushes.

I went through a stage where I never used to wear blushes, like with eyebrows I didn’t understand why we fought to take redness away from our faces only to then put it back on. But after stumbling across brushes that I love I knew I would be suckered in to buying some from Benefit.

I picked up Dandelion; I have wanted to try this blush for YONKS! I’ve seen it in stores and the amount of times I have picked it up, put it down, picked it up, put it down is ridiculous. So I knew I just had to get it.

It is a very subtle colour, nothing too overpowering but balances against my Hoola Bronzer perfectly. The smell is beautiful, very floral as expected, but nothing too overpowering. The colour is definitely buildable so don’t think about applying too much! Subtle blushes are definitely my favourite and the packaging helps to keep it in my top 5! The blush also acts as almost a highlighter, it is not too shimmery but I feel there is pigmentation in it to highlight my skin.

I am so pleased that I picked this blush up from Duty free. I don’t think I would have purchased it anywhere else due to me chickening out every other time!

What is your favourite blush?

Make Up Haul | Spain Edition

Whilst on holiday in Spain I went to two different stores that sold lots of lovely make up. One store in particular was my favourite and I bought a nice amount of make up that I couldn’t get in the UK. Primor was their local drugstore, but I absolute loved it, it reminded me of the videos I have seen on US drugstores videos.

One brand in particular caught my eye and this was ‘Wet & Wild’ we cannot get it in the UK so I was super excited to pick some items up. I tried to think about the recommendations I had seen from Tati so with that in mind I went to town. I picked one of the blushes in Heather Silk, a beautiful pink that is super pigmented. I also picked up one of the eyeshadow palettes I have yet to use it but am excited to see how they fair up against my Naked Palettes. I also purchased the Liquid liner in waterproof.

Finally from Wet n Wild I bought three of the Megalast lip colours, the first being Cinnamon Spice which is a very deep red colour, the next is Purty Permission which is a beautiful orange/red and then finally Bare It All which is a lovely everyday colour.

Also from Primor I bought the Make Up Revolution Bronze Palette. We do have this brand here but I have yet to see this particular palette in stores. I have the blush one and love that I now have the bronze one. One thing about them however is that they are insanely pigmented so go very lightly with your brush!

The next store that I saw was Kiko, I have wanted to try some products from this brand for a very long time. I have seen Lily Pebbles and Vivannalovesmakeup rave about this brand so I knew I had to pick some things up! Whilst in this shop I was trying to remember the specific concealer they love and unfortunately I didn’t pick the right one up. I did however; pick up the Soft Focus concealer in the colour 01. It is a dupe for the YSL Touche Éclair, I have used it once and loved how it looked. Next I picked up an eyeliner in the colour 800, it is beautiful gold colour and when swatching it in the store it was super creamy! The final two items I picked up were a Lip Liner in the colour 703 and a lipstick in the colour 913, they are a beautiful dark pink that compliment each other very well. I absolutely love the packaging of the lipstick and wish I had picked up more!

I hope you have enjoyed the last two blog posts! Are you or have you been on holiday recently? If so did you pick anything up?

Estee Lauder Double Wear Light Review

Over the last few years I’ve found it very difficult to find a foundation that I have absolutely fallen in love with. I thought I had found this with Nars Sheer Glow, but over time I found the foundation would set into the dry patches on my skin and therefore I had to move onto something different. I’ve always had difficulty trying to find a match to the Double Wear foundation, so when I asked the lovely lady at the airport to colour match me I was not surprised when she couldn’t. However, she didn’t give up like many others had, she instead told me about Double Wear Light - it still has the coverage I wanted, it just meant it was not so heavy on my skin. The perfect thing for summer! And she was able to colour match me!

I was sceptical at first, as I could not understand how it would have the same amount of coverage and therefore why they would just not reformulate the original. But I understand why and am very thankful for it. Whilst the light version is not as heavy it also seems to be less runny. It has more of a moisturiser feel rather than a foundation. Personally I prefer to use a brush to buff it onto my face as I feel my fingers do not get the coverage I want. I alternate between my hands and my brush depending on the product, as an example I hate using a brush with my Bourjois CC Cream and instead have to use my fingers!

The staying power of this foundation is also incredible; I work long and hot hours at work. Meaning that I could get a ‘sula’ or two, to quote Wild Child. My make up looks just as good when I finish a shift as when I started it. I find this foundation to be incredible as so far and, (fingers crossed), it has not started to set into my dry patches.

Hopefully I have found my new ‘go to’ foundation.

What is your favourite summer foundation?

Duty Free Make Up Haul

A few weeks ago I went on Holiday to Spain with my two best friends. It was an amazing time - full of sunshine and relaxation. However I did manage to find some time for shopping! And especially make up shopping! I bought some things from duty free and then also found brands in Spain that are not easily accessible in the UK. I’m going to split this blog post into two, the first being ‘Duty Free’ and the next being ‘Make Up from Spain’.

I love airports, I know a lot of people that get fed up with waiting around for their flights but not me. I like to get their early so I have enough time to look around duty free before relaxing before my flight. I love journeys to places, it's one of the things I look forward to the most. Sad, but true.

With airports come ‘Duty Free’ a wonderful thing full of make up, perfume, sunglasses, handbags, the list is endless. I knew the make up that I wanted to get in the airport and saved up for it as I knew I wouldn't be able to get it for this price elsewhere.

The first stop was to get my mum a bottle of her favourite Perfume, Chanel Coco Mademoiselle. It’s a lovely perfume that only needs a few sprits as it could become over powering. The good thing about the strong scent is that not much is needed and therefore the bottle lasts an extremely long time!

Next I moved onto Estee Lauder, I wanted to see if the lady could match me to the Double Wear as a lot of the sales assistance have been rude and not helpful at all. However, she was very kind but I just do not match to any of the colours. She went on to explain how Double Wear Light has the same amount of coverage but it is just not as heavy on the skin. I agreed to give it ago and the colour 1.0 matched me perfectly. I have to say after using this for a few weeks that it is amazing! It lasts all day, doesn’t look cakey and feels like I have nothing on my skin.

Next up was Benefit, I bought two items from here. I firstly bought the Roller Lash Mascara as I had a few samples and loved it! I then went on to get a blush I have been lusting after for a very long time, Dandelion is a nicely subtle colour but perfect for any skintone. It also has an amazing scent!

Finally, from Malaga’s airport I picked up another of my MAC Studio Fix Powders as I am slowly starting to run out. MAC is never on offer so it was the perfect opportunity to pick it up!

Do you love or hate airports?

Topshop Haul

As summer has slowly started to emerge and our wardrobes have began to change the highstreet stores have opened their doors to the summer sales! My favourite store to visit during this event is Topshop! The variety of items on offer during this time is amazing and if you’re lucky, you can get some amazing buys.

I was very lucky!

The main reason I ventured inside Topshop was due to the endless amount of jeans lining the sale rails. I love Topshop jeans and being given the opportunity to get them at a discounted price was something I was definitely up for! Topshop jeans are perfect for the Autumn and winter (or all year round depending on where you live) as they are super comfortable. They can be dressed casual for everyday or dressed up for an evening look.

The first pair I picked were the black low rise jeans, that have two zips detailing each hip. The shape of the jeans make them very flattering and pairing them with heals allows the jeans to be worn on a night out.

The next pair are the Leigh jeans, super soft, high waisted and charcoal in colour; I wanted a pair of jeans that were not completely black like the first pair but would go with almost any top so this was the perfect balance. The final pair I found were the Baxter jeans, they are a similar colour and shape but are of a thicker material, which I think will be perfect when we move into the winter. Stocking up on these jeans meant that in the long run I was able to save a lot of money!

The next few items I purchased we a few tops to go alongside the jeans. I love lace and it is unsurprising that this material is featured heavily in my summer wardrobe. Therefore when I found this lace crop top I could not leave it. The straps cross at the back and it falls in a circle around my body leaving it swaying when I walk.

Another top I purchased is pink in colour and has scalloped edges, it goes perfectly with all the jeans I purchased and also matches some of the loose fitting trousers I bought from New Look.  The final top I bought was this silver/lilac silk top, it has an interesting split design at the back and is slightly structured. It is very flattering and pretty.

I bought one dress during the sale, which was an accomplishment as I could have purchased so many more! It is white, high-necked witch mesh sections around the midriff, bottom and shoulders. I love finding new dresses for nights out, specifically when they are so cheap!

The final item of clothing I got is my favourite purchase! It’s a white faux leather jacket; the colour is slightly off making it look vintage. It’s very comfortable and perfect for when it starts to cool down. It matches all of the jeans and tops I purchased perfectly.

I hope you enjoyed this blog post, let me know what your favourite item was.
