We Wish You A Merry Christmas and a Top 5 Christmas Lipsticks

Christmas is a time to experiment, with food, clothing and make up. Lipstick is my favourite item of make up; it can transform a make up look from day to night in a swish of colour. So it's no surprise that I am doing my favourite lipsticks around Christmas time! My favourites to wear during the Christmas period are reds, all different kinds of reds that compliment and complete an outfit.

Here are My Top 5 Lipsticks for Christmas:

From Left to Right: Channel Rouge Noir, Estee Lauder Fig, MAC Sin, Nars Red Lizard, WetnWild Cherry Picking.

Number 5: Frist is a lipstick from 'Wet n Wild'  a cheaper brand with quality products at affordable prices. The colour is called Cherry Picking; it's the only colour that has an undertone of pink in my top 5. It's very beautiful and gives an excellent pop of colour to a natural look.

Number 4: Next up is my 'Nars' Red Lizard, the colour is verging on Vamp red but it is not too dark. The formulation is lovely; it stays like a matte lipstick but does not feel overly dry on the lips.

Number 3: Is MAC's matte lipstick in the colour Sin. This one is a vamp red all the way, it's very dark and very matte. I would not dare to apply this without first using a lip liner and I've been loving the dark red lip with a high neck black jumper.

Number 2: This lipstick I purchased last Christmas and love, it's by Estee Luader and it is in the colour Fig. Unlike the majority of these lipsticks this one is definitely not matte, it glides on beautifully and is a very lovely red. It has lovely warm undertones – perfect for Christmas time!

Number 1: The final lipstick is Rouge Noir by Chanel. My favourite colour for Christmas, it's super dark and beautiful. It is very similar to MAC's Sin, but I prefer the formulation of this lipstick as I find the MAC one can sometimes settle into the fine lines in my lips. This lipstick is just simply stunning an perfect for Christmas parties!

We Wish You a Merry Christmas and a Happy Fresh Face

Christmas Party Make Up

Last Monday my Univeristy friendlings and myself had the most amazing pre-Christmas dinner. Courtesy of our friend Libby, who cooked the most scrummiest of meals, we had an amazing night. We dined on a super fancy high table, we drank bucks fizz like the classy Uni students we are (£3 from Sainsbury's is a bargain) and we took lovely photos.

What I wanted to show to you all was the make up look I went for – it made me feel super festive and christmasy!

The base of my face is, as always, the same – Laura Gellar Primer followed by my favourite Estee Lauder Double Wear Light. Then under my eyes I use the Urban Decay Concealer. I powder my face using the MAC Studio Fix Powder in NC15 and then I get onto the fun parts. To make a super awesome contour I used my Hoola Bronzer to create shape and then the Hourglass Ambient Light Palette to create definition. I also stuck to this palette for my blush using the middle bright pink colour – for this palette a little truly does go a long way! Then for my highlighter I took my MAC Lightscapade.

On my eyes as a base I placed the Urban Decay Eye Primer Potion, I then take my powder and swipe over the eyelid – might seem strange but it creates the smoothest base to work on! Then I took the dark brown and started to work this into my crease making sure to get darker and darker. Once this was done I took the wonderful gold colour onto my ring finger and pressed it onto my eyelid. Finally I took my liner, Eyeko jumbo eyeliner, and then my mascara to finish the look.

We Wish You a Merry Christmas & A Happy New Nars

Nars | Steven Klein

Christmas is a wonderful time for beauty lovers. The shops are filled with Christmas collections and we struggle on deciding what not to buy, rather than struggling on what to buy! One brand I have been loving this Christmas is Nars. Their Christmas collections are truly beautiful.

The Christmas collection that I picked up was the Steven Klein Killer Heels Lipstick collection.  There are five mini lipsticks inside this set. I feel this set was completely worth the money as I have managed to get five different coloured lipsticks for under £30. Even though they are small I feel they will still last a long time as I find it difficult to get through a larger lipstick anyway! Also because the applicator is smaller it makes it easier to produce a flawless looking lip.

The colours range from a nude to a vamp red, with the colours getting darker as they go. The picture below shows the colour and names of each of these lipsticks.
From Left to Right: Little Darling, Mayflower, Joyous Red, Jungle Red, Fire Down Below.

We Wish You A Merry Christmas & The Craze of H&M Make Up

The craze of H&M make up has hit the vlogging world head on, unfortunately many of the stores where I live have either not been stocking it, or not been stocking the full range. I did manage to pick up a few items that I wanted to share with you.

The first item is the volume mascara; the packaging is promising with the black and grey cheetah design. The wand itself is nice as it’s not too large and reminds me of the L’Oreal telescopic wand, I have tried it and I was pretty disappointed in it. It is a rather cheap mascara, at £2.99, so you cannot expect too much but I was hoping for a bit more volume.

Next I picked up the Blusher and Highlighter palette, this is again a relatively cheap product at £4.99 and comes with four very pretty colours, which seems pigmented. I have not tried this product yet but will have a full review once I do. I will say I am rather disappointed in the packaging as it is just a cardboard box – not great if you want to take it when travelling as I feel the box will just break.

Finally I picked up the Eyebrow Kit, it comes with two shades of powder, which you can mix together to make your preferred colour and a wax. I have also tried this and again was not too impressed with the pigmentation of the powders as I felt they barely showed on my own brows. It is however a good cheap alternative at £3.99.

Have you tried any H&M make up?

The Chanel Feature

Earlier this month I had the opportunity to pick a few Chanel products as an early Christmas present. For personal and family reasons we have opted to not celebrate Christmas as much as we normally would. Therefore my Christmas gift came early. On a previous visit to Debenhams my mum had pointed out the new Christmas collection for Chanel, but unfortunately they did not have it in stock. On a second trip we fell in love with a number of this seasons products. Boy were they good!

The first thing I picked up was the Rogue Noir lip liner and lipstick. A beautiful vamp read that is slightly matifying but not overly. I love the shape of the lipstick as it makes application smooth and simple. You would definitely need a lip liner for the lipstick and the formulation of the one I picked up is incredible.

The third and final item I received was the matching lipgloss, this is perfect if you are going on a night out and you want to 'Spice' the look up. It is super glossy but not too intense.

What is your favourite Christmas collection from any brand?

Warner Bros Studio Tour - A Wonderful Potter Experience

Back in the month of July my mum and I went on a little trip to Windsor. This weekend away was particularly exciting because we were going to visit Windsor Castle and the Warner Bros Studio Tour for Harry Potter. We left early hoping to be able to do a bit of light shopping and take a look around the Castle, by the time we arrived the Castle had closed so we decided to go the next morning and instead went for afternoon tea – my favourite! After a lovely breakfast we were on our way to the castle, a lovely historic building flying the flag, telling us the Queen was at residence.

We then moved on to the most exciting part of the trip. The Harry Potter Studio tour, Harry Potter framed my childhood with each new year that past a new film was released. JK Rowling is a fabulous woman, creating this wonderful world for us which has allowed imaginations to flourish and the world of fantasy to expand.

The tour is fantastic and I would highly encourage anyone to visit! I could go on for ages about this fantastic tour but I believe the pictures I took say everything I cannot. I took so many that I am making this into two parts so here is part one:
