MUA Recent Products

MUA Products
I recently came to know a new brand for myself, MUA or Make Up Academy. I had only ever seen this brand once before on holiday in a Superdrug at Norwich. Then I brought a liquid eyeliner and a few pressed powder eye shadow's all for a pound each. I was really impressed with the quality of all of them and for cheap make up I found that they all stayed on for a number of hours which pleasantly shocked me. Upon returning home I completely forgot about the brand MUA until just recently... or really three days ago.

I needed to buy some more mascara and powder and was going to buy my normal Max Factor Eye Brightening Mascara for brown eyes. It makes the eye's really stand out from the rest of the face and also gives them a very dark look. With this mascara I would have gotten a free mini nail varnish. However, upon walking away from the Max Factor stand I saw the MUA products and thought I would just have a look at these and found a number of products which I thought would be a lot more beneficial for me than paying £6.99 on one item (even though I do love my mascara).

Upon picking out all of the items that I wanted I saw an offer up the top of the stand which involved an £8.00 eye shadow palette, stating that if you spent £8.00 then the palette would be free. Feeling like it was a no brainier I immediately began to pick up products which would benefit me.

I first picked up the Every Lash Volume and Lengthening Mascara as it had almost the same brush as the Max Factor one. I was excited to use this to see if it was as good as Max Factor and although it does not give as much volume as Max Factor it separates the lashes a lot more than the Eye Brightening one and also makes the lashes appear very long. I feel that this product is defiantly worth the £3.00 that I paid for it and would be very much inclined to pay more for it as in my opinion it is a very good product.

The next item which I picked up was the Gel Eyeliner in the colour Underground, which is a very dark black. I have been wanting a gel eyeliner for a very long time now and I was going to buy one which was £7.00 from another cosmetic company (which I can't remember now). I was very happy to try this and also very excited when I realised that it was only £3.00, an absolute bargain!

Upon trying this product I became very confused of how you get the brush out of it, thinking that the white thing inside had to come out, which it did not. Now like the silly idiot I am I googled it and found that all you had to do was take the tag which was wrapped around it off and it popped out... very easily. I was pleasantly surprised to find out how easy it is to apply this product, much easier than using liquid eyeliner. The MUA gel eyeliner is very thick and very dark and creates a smooth and perfect black line across the eye lid. I was also very surprised to find that it lasts all day on my eyes only fading slightly. A very good product and defiantly worth all £3.00!

The next item I picked was the MUA Pressed Powder in shade 2, I was happy to buy this product as it was only £1.00 but I knew in the back of my head that I find it very hard to match powder to my skin tone unless it is an expensive product which is very annoying! Upon applying this powder however I found that like most of the other powders it made me very very orange! And this was only shade 2! However, even though it did make me very orange the application was extremely easy and it was a very good coverage! Only problem was the colour!

The last product I picked up was a lipstick in the shade 7, it unfortunately does not have a name, but it is a lovely peachy pink colour. When I saw that the price was only £1.00 I was pleasantly surprised but also thought that it would not last very long at all. But through wearing it for a couple days I found that it lasted for a good couple of hours. However, my only problem with it is that the nice glossy finish which comes from it when you first apply it leaves after about an hour, however the plus side of this is that the colour stays on the lips and lasts for about 4-5 hours.

And finally the free product, the Immaculate Collection Palette. This has to be one of the best free products I have ever gotten, it has 24 colours all varying in shades. Just from looking at the colours I could tell that I would love the eye palette. It has enough colours to make many different kinds of looks including a varying smokey eye, there is the original black smokey eye, a brown smokey eye and a very lovely green smokey eye. Upon trying this I did think that the colours may not spread well but they are very pigmented and spread evenly across the eye lid creating a very bold look or an
classy everyday look. I feel that this is worth all of the money I paid for it but also the £8.00 that it is worth. I would recommend it for everyone to try as you will not get that many colours in a palette for only £8.00.
