A Little Haul From Poole + Mini Reviews

A Little Haul From Poole

I did not buy much from this trip to Poole as it was only a few days and we only went into the town for about an hour. I did however want to pick a few things up from Superdrug, as the Superdrug where I live does not stock the brand NYC.

The first thing that I picked up was the Loose Face Powder in the colour Translucent. I absolutely love this powder as it is by far my favourite out of the many I have tried. It makes my foundation last long throughout the day and also takes away all shine, making my foundation matte. It is also extremely good with any oily patches on my skin. I do not have oily skin but if I get hot throughout the day a little bit of this powder and it goes away making my makeup look flawless once again! It was also a bargain as NYC had an offer where all of their products were £2.50 and under and the powder was £2.49.

The next thing I picked up was an individual eyes palette, I had previously bought the Individual eyes for Blue eyes because I really liked the colours (read my review here http://shannonkims.blogspot.co.uk/2013/08/nyc-eyeshadow-palette-for-blue-eyes.html) and this time I bought the one for brown eyes as they were gorgeous pink colours and created an extremely beautiful look on the eyes which I feel matches my brown eyes very well. From the ‘for blue eyes palette’ I already knew that I liked the primer, but with this palette I was pleasantly surprised to see that all of the colours were very pigmented and went onto my eyelid well. The colours can create a really soft pink eye for an everyday look and can also create a dark smokey pink look, with the dark purple shade, for the evening for a night time look. This palette was also £2.49, and absolute bargain!

The final NYC product I got was one of their ‘New’ lipsticks in the colour ‘Red Rapture’ it is an amazing ‘vamp’ red shade which I feel compliments my skin tone as I am quite pale. It has a smooth and creamy consistency which I much prefer to matte lipsticks! The lipstick glides on extremely well and is extremely pigmented. It lasts a very long time and I also feel that it does not dry out my lips when I wear it!

The final thing I bought was a matte Eyeshadow from MUA. The Colour is called ‘matte’ and is a dark brown, perfect for the crease! I really loved the matte brown colour in my MUA palette ‘Undress me too’ but because I loved it so much it has unfortunately gone and this is the perfect replacement at only £1.00. MUA is an extremely affordable brand if you cannot afford the more expensive brands. Their eye shadows in particular, I feel, are extremely good quality, very pigmented and an absolute bargain and £1.00 for single eyeshadow or £4.00 for a palette of 12 colours!

When I was paying for the products I saw that they had Lady Gaga’s The Fame perfume in a little sample pack so I picked one up for myself. These little samples are perfect for putting in your bag and having a quick spray throughout the day. My Nan also got me one as well, go Nan!

Day Two In Poole

Day Two In Poole

Day two in Poole was a very relaxing day! We had a nice lie in until around 10am whereby we had a light breakfast. We then went up to the members club and enjoyed a free cup of tea in the morning sunshine.

After the lovely tea we popped into town to have a little look around and I found myself in Superdrug! ;) I needed to get a few things and I thought I would have a little look around the make-up counters. The Superdrug in Poole stocks the brand NYC, something which I cannot get in the Superdrug where I live. I absolutely love their Loose Face Powder in the colour Translucent so I thought that I would stock up! I also got a few extra little items whilst I was there. (Check out my Little Haul from Poole.

After we went back to the caravan for lunch before heading up to the pool for a quick swim as the weather was, once again, extremely good for England!

Now a very British thing to do, whilst on holiday by the sea, is to have fish and chips for dinner! (Although, I have sausage and chips because I don’t like fish but that’s not the point!) An excellent place to have this is along the Quay watching the boats sail past as the sun sets. It’s a very picturesque scene! I opted for a loose fitting pink blouse from Primark along with a pair of Disco Pants also from Primark. On my eyes I used the 'NYC Individual Eye's Palette for Brown Eye's to make a pink smokey eye look!

We then left early in the morning where I wore a cosy jumper from Primark, leggings and a natural look as we were only going home!

Poole is defiantly an excellent place to relax and recuperate as well as enjoy an excellent time by the sea. It also has a beautiful manmade park where you can sit and have a bite to eat and a cup of tea. It’s a very beautiful town and also only a 10 minute drive to Bournemouth which is an excellent place for shopping and has many department stores to go browsing around the make-up counters!

Day One in Poole

Day One in Poole

The first day in Poole saw us getting up very early to ensure we had a full day to do all of the things we wanted to do. Joining my Nan and Grandad at the caravan we first had a yummy breakfast of Croissants and Choc au Pain! After getting ready we were setting off to our first destination of Sandbanks!

 Beautiful Morning over Clay Pigeon

It was a very misty morning but we knew that it would clear up so we didn’t let it stop us. Sandbanks is a beautiful and expensive place as I’m sure you know but it is really nice place to have a drive through looking at all of the amazing houses. We stopped at a cute little beach and had a short break whilst waiting for the mist to lift and the sunshine to come out!

Then we decided to move onto our next spot! Poole Park, a beautiful Park with a manmade lake that stretches on for miles. Poole Park is also a great place to sit down, have a bite to eat and a good old cup of tea! There is also quite a lot to do there such as, crazy golf, tennis, sailing, and there are plenty of wildlife to see such as the beautiful swans.

 Poole Park

After having a bite to eat and a drink we then decided to move on to the next and final spot of the day, Poole Quay. Poole Quay is defiantly iconic as you can walk along the beautiful Harbour and then watch as the amazing ‘Sunseekers’ are being built and tested. Also there are many pubs and restaurants that you can go in and have a lovely meal whilst watching the boasts pass. And then on a Thursday night during the summer they have a spectacle during the night where they have music and dancing and then at night at 10o clock there is beautiful fires works. You might also stumble across the smelly lobster crates!

We then decided to go back to the site and go by the pool for the rest of the afternoon whilst there was beautiful sunshine. Here we enjoyed a free cup of tea and also a quick swim in the pool!
Cup Of Tea!

After it was time to get ready to go out, I chose a mint dress I got in Spain and also used the Sleek 'Au Natural' palette on my eyes! The first stop was Bingo! I’m not sure about you but whenever we go on holiday away we love to get involved and play bingo! This night we won! Woop! Only £7.50, but never the less we still won! :D

After we had a lovely meal we came back and went into the amusements! The final stop of the night! Where my Nan proceeded to win me a ‘Minion’ Toy out of the claw machine on her very first go! Go Nan! She’s a pro at that machine!!

 A Beautiful Minion!

Overall, it was a great day :D

A Little Haul

A Little Haul

Recently, I had to go into to town to pick up a few bits and bobs and run a few errands. Whilst I was there I thought I would just pop into Superdrug to have a little look around, not having any intention of buying anything! I knew at some point I would need to buy a new foundation as the warm weather is slowly decreasing and so is my tan and I am going back to my deathly pale look that I almost can never seem to find a foundation to match.

Whilst wandering around I looked at every counter to find the best foundation and also the best deals, fully intending to find one I liked and wait for a good deal to come out, as offers go on in both Superdrug and Boots every week.

However, both Bourjois and L’Oreal were having offers on their lines. I have the L’Oreal ‘True Match’ foundation in a slightly darker shade than my skin tone so I decided I wanted to try something new. Therefore, I looked at the Bourjois stand and saw the ‘Health Mix Serum’. I had heard a lot of good things about this foundation and have wanted to try it for a long time. What persuaded me to buy it was the buy one get one half price offer on the Bourjois line and I had been wanting to try the ‘Colour Boost Lip Crayons’ for a while and decided I would just go ahead and get them whilst the offer was still on. I got the ‘Colour Boost Lip Crayon’ in ‘Red Sunrise’ and it is such a beautiful wearable colour that looks great with Disco Pants and a cute white shirt.

I also happened to look at the MUA stand as it is one of my favourite cheaper brands and I found two more lipsticks which have not been in stock each time I have gone in and for a £1.00 each I just couldn’t resist, in the colours Shade 14, which is a beautiful pinky nude colour and then also in Shade 3 which is a bright fuchsia colour. The final thing I bought was another ‘Baby Lips’ from Maybelline in the colour ‘Peach Kiss.

So, my trip to Superdrug, after having no intention of buying anything, I suppose you could say was very successful. ;)
