Birchbox July 2015
I was slightly apprehensive to receive July’s Birchbox. I was very intrigued by the new design they had developed for our summer month and couldn’t wait to see what it was. When I received the parcel I have to say my first instinct was to be disappointed, it was flat packed, in a yellow giffy bag and didn’t seem all that heavy.
However, on opening the box I was pleasantly surprised to see the Birchbag, instead of our regular Birchbox boxes. I end up collecting these boxes and not really knowing what to do with them as the hoarder in me comes out and refuses to get rid of them. I received the blue bag, the idea is that the bag is waterproof and therefore can be taken with you to the beach/pool etc. I love this concept as I very recently broke the bag I use when I go on weekends away to house my little products in and I loved that I didn’t have to go out and replace it. I think that this bag will also be sturdier than the one I had before so I will not have to worry about replacing it.
Onto the good stuff… the products inside the bag.
The first thing I picked out I had no idea what it was; it was all bunched together and looked odd. When reading about it I realised that it was a lace headband. Whilst I new I would never wear this out I did think that it would be good for keeping my hair off of my face when I am doing my make up.
I then also saw a product in a clear bottle – slightly odd I was automatically intrigued. From the brand ‘indemne’ called ‘Eau De Genie’ claiming to be the 4 spirits treatment. It states to be 100% organic and helps to cleanse the face during your usual regime.
The next product is a trio of eyeshadow from Pop Beauty they are all shimmer colours which I really like, for a while I would only wear matte eye shadows keeping it very muted. But recently I have been experimenting with colour and I love a little pop of shimmer every now and again! Also the product is the perfect size to pop into your make up bag whilst traveling.
Next is a small sunscreen from Benefit, this will be perfect for my face when I go to spain. It’s small enough to fit in my luggage and with high SPF of 45 it will protect me from the sun.
I also received a beautiful nail varnish from the brand ‘Soigne’ it’s a very pretty natural pink. Perfect for any look!
The final product rounds off this Summer edition perfectly! It is the Unani body treatment with Aloe Vera, or more commonly known as after sun. This is also another perfect item for me to take to Spain in order to help to prevent any lasting effects from the sun.
I took this bag and some of the products away with me on a recent visit to Spain, whilst initial apprehensive about this month I think it is one of my favourites. Even though it contained a little amount of make up I like that everything was a must for summer and that I would be able to put all of it to good use!
Did you receive this months box? What was your favourite part?
