Ultra Repair Cream Review

I recently purchased the First Aid Beauty - Ultra Repair Cream. I needed a new day cream which would be nourishing and help with the dry patches that I had on my forehead and also around my chin. I had heard a lot of great things about this brand and their skincare and when investigating the sites that sold them I realised Beautybay.com had a 10% discount code! I instantly snapped this up and I have been using this cream for about a week now and I have greatly seen an improvement.

The dry patches on my face have disappeared and the application of makeup is so much smoother. I realised that the dry patches had started to cause my make up to become patchy and my make up to set into the fine lines around my forehead. The cream is super hydrating and very thick meaning that it nourishes my face leaving it feeling super fresh and awake.

It also has a strong, but lovely, smell that is almost minty, the smell is very pleasant and I feel it helps to sooth the face. Personally I also feel it helps to dull any redness on my face making the colour of my face appear even.

A Pop of Colour Under the Eye

Lately I have been loving adding a pop of colour underneath the lower lashes. It creates such a lovely look and also adds definition to the eyes. Whenever I opt for a very natural look with not much colour to the eyes I like to add a coloured eyeliner, it makes the eyes stand out and also because I wear glasses everyday it picks up the colour perfectly.

In this months Birchbox I received the Laura Mercier Longwear Creme Eye Pencil in the colour violet. This wonderful blue colour is very intense and perfect for the summer weather where we are starting to experiment with colour. I feel that whilst it is not too overpowering it definitely gives a lovely look to the eye which is different to my normal look.

Becoming Bilbo Baggins For The Day

The grounds of my university are beyond stunning and there is nothing better to do than walk around the lake and explore the trails that lead off of it. Myself and my friend Leanne decided that we would make the most of this amazing weather and head around the lake, during which we might have slightly gotten lost in the process.

Feeling much like Bilbo Baggins this adventure has to be one of the most enjoyable and funniest things I have ever experienced. The grounds are beautiful and have so much wildlife and beautiful plants to take pictures off. Therefore I wanted to show you these amazing sites and some of the places we visited and got lost in. Now I will admit this included climbing under barbed wire, climbing fences and also wading through a river – note to self next time wear converses as stinging nettles really hurt!!

 The Walk Begins...

 Such beautiful surroundings...
Stunning Views.
 The first trail
We are so excited for this adventure!
 We encounter some wonderful flowers
 And some brilliant livestock
Run up a hill and get stuck...
 Try and escape down it.
 Jump over a running river!
Follow some ducks... they will show us the way
 Pause for a selfie...
The ducks led us to a river! Now we must jump it!
And we are safe! Hurrah!

Have you been enjoying this weather?

OOTD | Blue Jeans, Lace Top and Kimono

If you saw my recent spring haul you would have noticed I picked up some fabulous pieces from New Look. I wanted to show you my outfit for today as I absolutely love it.

The blue jeans may be the softest jeans I have ever tried, they are classed as ‘Super Skinny’ and whilst being so they do not feel too tight. I love the look of them, especially rolled up at the ankle to give the jeans a little something extra.

I have paired the jeans with this beautiful Lace crop top, it is not as cropped as you would think, hiding my tummy the way I want it to but not stopping too low. The top is super comfortable and the lace is of beautiful quality. It also contains an extra panel of fabric at the front so it is not see through. However, the back has been left see through something I think is perfect for the summer!

I have also added a kimono to give the look a slight definition, I love the way this kimono hangs on my body. It matches the outfit perfectly and also provides a bit more warmth in the colder spring nights. I am also going on holiday soon so I think this will be perfect with a swimming costume around the pool!

Finally I have added a statement necklace to bring the entire look together. This necklace matches almost any outfit and hangs perfectly above the lace top, the wonderful blue colours really make it pop and it is my favourite necklace at the moment!

Spring Look Book

Recently I purchased some lovely clothes from New Look for Spring, I put together some looks with all of the items and they were all perfect to mix and match. I love all of the looks I created and hope I have been able to give you a bit of inspiration. New Look really have been on their A game recently as I loved almost everything in the shop and would have picked up more if my bank balance had allowed it!

New Look Spring Clothing Haul

Very recently myself and my family took a trip to our local seaside town, Weymouth, as it was a lovely sunny day and we thought we would make the most of it – we all know how Bristish weather can be. Whilst we were there we decided to pop into New Look and have a browse at the swimwear section. As with most shops we went in for one thing and came out with an entirely different thing all together – needless to say I didn’t buy any swimwear, but I did purchase some lovely spring/summer clothes.

Starting off with the first thing I spotted, were these amazing trousers, they are lovely and lightweight and super soft. The light blue fabric print is lovely and works well with many tops – perfect for the warmer days when you don’t want to wear jeans and was an amazing price at only £9.99. Paired with this I opted for a lovely pink Jumper, this bad boy was on offer for only £5.00! Bargain! It’s once again lightweight and really lovely to wear in the spring as it is still nice and warm.

The next item I purchased were these amazing blue jeans. They are the super skinny ones and are extremely soft, they only had a 34inch leg but I thought that I could just roll the ends and it creates a lovely look for the jeans. Coming in at only £19.99 these jeans really are a bargain, I love New Look jeans as they will last forever! Next is a lovely lace crop top, it is slightly longer than your normal crop top so does not show any belly which I love. The lace is super soft and it also has an extra panel in the front so it is not see through – it is however, see through in the back. This again was £9.99 so a really good price – a lot of these prices were actually cheaper than Primark which really amazed me and they are slightly better quality.

Next up is this beautiful kimono – the fabric is super soft and the colours are gorgeous. The black and the dark green work perfectly together and it really matches the lace top and blue jeans perfectly. This was my most expensive item coming in at £22.99 but I have wanted a kimono for a long time now so it was definitely worth the price.

I also purchased this beautiful dress, dresses are definitely my thing so leaving the shop without one just didn’t feel right, especially not when they have so mnay lovely ones. Once again I love the print and colours of this dress, perfect for spring and summer! I’m also going on holiday very soon so this dress will be perfect of a night-time! And at only £12.99 I had to have it!

The final clothing item I purchased was this amazing denim jacket, I had been looking for one that was not too short for the longest time. A lot of the denim jackets in this colour in the shops are almost cropped, a style I am not a fan of. I found this lovely little item hidden in the racks and was amazed at the price, at £19.99 it was quickly in my basket!

The final two items are necklaces, I spotted this blue one and instantly fell in love – a lot of the pieces I picked up were blue so I thought this statement necklace would work perfectly with them. All jewellery was on buy one get one free, so this meant I could find another cute necklace, I therefore decided to pick up this pretty pink flowered necklace. It is not as in your face and perfect for the days when you want to wear something a bit more subtle.

Bourjois CC Cream Review

Ah spring how I love you! Sunshine, bright colours and pretty flowers coming into the world. Because of this I love to not have so much coverage on my face and wanted to find a foundation/ cc cream that would help me to achieve this. I recently watch Essie Buttons Spring Make Up Look and saw she was raving about the Bourjois CC Cream. The coverage is a lot better than you would expect from a cc cream and helps to even out the complexion making it look flawless without too much make up on the face.

The CC Cream claims to have three colour corrections, the first being Apricot to help with Anti-Fatigue. The second is Green to help with Anti-Redness, which I feel it definitely does as I have red patches across my cheeks. And then finally White to help with Anti-Dark Spots, currently I have quite a few dark spots on my chin and forehead and this product helps to diminish the look of them. Then applying a concealer on top really helps to create the illusion of flawless, natural looking skin.

I am also impressed with the range of colours, though there are not many, the lightest works perfectly with my skin tone. Many other BB or CC creams I have used are not very pale and therefore look horribly orange on my skin. This product feels lovely and light, almost as if I am not wearing anything. With an SPF of 15 it’s perfect to take away with me on holiday!

One thing I would say is that it is not 24h long like it suggests on the packaging, I would say it lasts for about 8 hours before starting to fade and set into the dry patches. I only really wear make up for this amount of time anyway so does not create much of a problem.

Have you tried any CC or BB Creams that you love? Let me know which ones they are!

April's 'Royally Good' Birchbox

After last months Birchbox, which was slightly disappointing I was really looking forward to this months. The prospect of receiving a few Laura Mercier products was extremely exciting! You got to pick between three products, I opted for the Primer but unfortunately they had run out, however, they stated that because I couldn’t get the option I wanted they would put the two other samples in my box this month! Hurrah.

Opening the packaging I was thoroughly happy to see the colours and packaging of the box. It's lovely and pink, perfect for the spring and has a lot of birds covering the lid. The box is also labelled ‘Royally Good’ and deary me is it! Opening the box I am happy to see the little pouch that contains all of the products as last months box was lacking in it, I love these pouches as I think they would be perfect for travelling with things such as jewellery.
As usual we have the lovely postcards, the info card tells us they have the Royal baby #2 fever which is what this box has been dedicated towards, some boxes will be pink and others will be blue. The postcards are as always beautiful with little hints and tips on each.

Now onto the products, the first thing I see is a Percy & Reed hair product. It is the ‘Smooth, Sealed & Sensational Volumising No Oil, Oil’ – not that I need any volume in my hair as it is big and thick enough already. However, I have heard many good things about these ‘no oil’ oils and am really looking forward to putting it to the test.

The next product is a birch box exclusive and it is the Lola Barcelona Nail polish in the colour Garcia. It is a beautiful hot pink and I am really looking forward to testing the staying power of the polish – it's especially perfect for my upcoming holiday!

Next is the Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish, it came beautifully wrapped and also contained a muslin cloth, I actually own this product and absolutely love it! It leaves my face feeling silky smooth and also thoroughly nourished.

I also received the Pommade Divine ‘Natures Remedy Balm’ it claims to be 97% natural and helps to repair and nourish troublesome areas in a flash. I can get very dry lips and hopefully it will help with this problem. I also get dry patches on my forehead so I am looking forward to see if this helps with this.

The final two beauty items are from Laura Mercier and they are the ‘Longwear Crème Eye Pencil’ in the colour Violet, it is a very lovely intense colour and I have used it a few times along my lower lash line and love the effect. The second Laura Mercia product is the Volume Supreme mascara, however I am slightly disappointed in this product as it is a brown mascara instead of a black one which I would normally opt for.

The final thing that came in the box is the Inner Me ‘Energise Me’ vitamins, stating they are to help with good health. The pack contains 4 weeks worth for you to be able to put the vitamins to the test.

Did you receive a Birchbox this month? If so what was your favourite product?
